REACH! South Africa is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide effective, source-based, sustainable preschools to help uplift neglected rural communities throughout South Africa. REACH! is dedicated to advancing their core belief that early nurturing and education is the foundation for realizing human potential.

PROJECT GOALS
REACH! South Africa had a minimal, online presence contained within a small space at the corner of a local west Seattle preschool website. Having successfully launched their first South African preschool, REACH South Africa now had a story to tell. The organization was ready to launch a new website with a cohesive visual brand. The goal was to reach new donors and collaborators in order to generate support for the organization, and further their goal of establishing these containerized preschools all over South Africa. A website that integrated their mission, and told their story was key in getting their message out.
THE INSPIRATION
Shelley Neal, a preschool founder, and her husband Ralph Pooler, a native South African, came up with idea to use shipping containers for preschool classrooms, to transport them and customize them onsite. To promote their nonprofit venture, they contracted a photographer who delivered joyful, inspirational images that captured the heart and soul of the children and their village. Her artist son, Sean created a vibrant logo and custom artwork to adorn the sides of the container preschool, once delivered to the village. My design was inspired by the color of the artwork and the enthusiasm of the children. The original artwork had to be re-rendered and digitized to maximize use in branding and visual themes for the website and app.

SUMMARY
The children and families of the village rejoiced upon receiving and utilizing their new preschool. The model preschool and new website embody the collaboration of all involved in this community educational effort, fulfilling the needs of both the initial preschool and the newborn nonprofit, and launching and extending their mission into other areas across South Africa.
